Program Plan development for Schiphol’s Run-Off Vision

The Royal Schiphol Group (RSG) aims to minimise its environmental impact. To support this ambition, a working group within RSG, supported by AirportCreators, previously developed a vision for an environmentally friendly approach to run-off during winter operations. To translate this vision into implementation, AirportCreators was engaged to develop a Program Plan outlining how the Run-off Vision should be realised over the coming decades.

To develop the Program Plan, we collaborated with RSG across four workstreams:

1. Management Alignment

AirportCreators supported the creation of alignment across management levels and the related decision-making, ensuring the programme was anchored within the organisation.

2. Technical parameters & required capacities

AirportCreators conducted a series of data-driven analyses to define the technical parameters and required capacities, providing input for the requirements to be incorporated into future projects.

3.  Phasing & planning

AirportCreators developed a long-term phasing strategy for the implementation of the required infrastructure and, in collaboration with RSG, prepared a cost estimate to determine the implementation costs.

4. Operational concept & commissioning

AirportCreators worked with RSG to elaborate the intended process design within the Program Plan and outline the responsibilities of each stakeholder.

The result was a comprehensive Program Plan that defined the technical parameters and required capacities, established a long-term phasing and implementation strategy with an accompanying cost estimate, and detailed the intended process design along with the responsibilities of each stakeholder.
